Right from a little one I have always loved books and reading. I love curling up with a good book and being transported away with a good novel. As a Mum is warms my heart seeing Sebastian starting to foster that same love of books and reading (although he is yet to actually do this). I love seeing him sitting there either in his room or in the lounge in front of his books picking them up and looking at them one by one, looking at the pictures, taking them it. I love it even more when he then starts showing me and telling me about the books when we read them before his nap and bedtime.
Recently my love of books has shifted from novels for myself to enjoy; to finding fabulous children’s books which I know my little man can enjoy too. The lovely ladies at Kiwi Mummy Blogs have recently helped my on this quest by sending some awesome picture books for Sebastian. The latest and one for all ages is ‘Help! The Wolf is Coming!’
It is an interactive board book (so will withstand all the moving and shaking) aimed at toddlers but that would suit parents and older children a like. We have thoroughly enjoyed reading it, usually twice through at a sitting. Sebastian has loved the fact we flip, turn and shake the book, making reading it and bedtime lots of fun. It has fast become a favourite, Daddy and I just have to learn to perhaps not be SO enthusiastic about how we read it, especially at night time.
If you have a little one how is getting into reading or who you are trying to get into reading then I encourage you to try ‘Help! The wolf is Coming!’. I am sure you will love it as much as they do.
I’m always on the look out for good books for Sebastian. What’s your little one’s favourite book of the moment?
