I can imagine from the title (bubba bites) you were thinking that Sebastian has started a biting faze and that I might be after some tried and true advice. I believe that the day might come where I will be writing said post but for now I am talking about bubba sized snacks. Since Sebastian has started solids I have been on the hunt for homemade snacks additional to the fruit and crackers that he already has. So I have been on the hunt to find some yummy little bite sized cookies and muffins for my little man; my hunt ended after I found the ‘for baby’ website here. Pop on over have a look and find plenty of inspiration for everyday meals and snack foods. I will be posting on here the ones I have tried and tested on my little guinea pig – heheh… Today I thought I would share the recipe for Mini Muesli and Apple Muffins, they have been a real hit. The recipe uses a jar of ‘fruity apple’ or apple puree, next time I am going to try another flavour and omit the raisins (we’ll see how it goes).
Confession time… I made these whilst doing a couple of other things at the same time (you know being a mum), and whipped them in the oven super proud. Half way through the cooking time I went “that’s strange, there was no baking powder..”, reread the recipe and realised that it called for self raising flour and I had just used plain flour – What a wally!!!!!! Luckily there was still a third of the recipe to bake and I added it in. Resulting in 2/3 of the muffins being really mini as they didn’t rise – whoops! They still tasted good though – that’s the main thing, right?

What tasty looking little morsels 🙂 Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks 🙂 The perfect little bite sized snack xx
These look really yummy. I’m always looking for recipes without eggs 🙂
#weekendbloghop
I have to admit they do taste good, I had to sample them of course. And yes an added bonus of not having eggs. Thanks for stopping by xx
Absolutely! As long as they tasted good that’s what matters 🙂 I will be checking out this website 🙂 #weekendbloghop
They did and the second batch tasted just the same 🙂 Thanks for popping on over xx
Oh I never thought of making muffins for bub. Will have to give it a go cos she loves cake so savoury muffins would probably be a win too. I’d have to use alternatives for a few things as shes allergic to milk and apples, but I think I could still manage it.
I just think its nice to have another idea or two up your sleeve for snacks, I find they can be the hardest sometimes xx
Randomly I happened across a tupperware container with some leftover baby cereal in it in the pantry today, Miss 2 is long past eating it and I nearly threw it out but I didn’t. This recipe is the perfect way to use it up!
Funny how you keep a hold of things some times, perfect timing xx
What a great idea, both of my boys would love these. Best of all I’ve got a stack of frozen pureed apples in the freezer to use!
They really are the perfect snack – love that I can freeze them too xx
These look so cute! And not too taxing to make either – winner!
