I have followed Julia & Libby on Social Media (Facebook & Instagram) for a little while now and had been keen to get my hands on their book ‘Julia & Libby’s Wholefood Kitchen’, so I was excited when it miraculously appeared on my door step one morning. Thanks Kiwi Mummy Blogs!
What I like about this book is it’s NOT just recipes. It starts at the beginning with Julia & Libby giving us their back story, how the book came to fruition, how they made the decision to eat the way they do and where the recipes come from. They share the importance of ‘wholefoods’ discussing the different vitamins and minerals and the benefits these have for our bodies. Before moving to the kitchen itself and giving you all the tools, tips, tricks and a grocery list ( know exactly what you need to make / create their recipes (without having to make a mad rush to the supermarket at 5pm).
Julia & Libby’s Wholefood Kitchen ‘brings together their best recipes and tips for living a healthier life’. This book is ‘full of energy-rich, nutritious recipes’.
I loved thumbing through this recipe book, oohing over the gorgeous photos and writing a list that all but included EVERY recipe to try with my little family. Some of my favourites include Spicy Beef & Quinoa Balls; Whole Maple-Roasted Chicken; Rhubarb & Strawberry Crumble (perfect for those Winter evening); Raspberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Chip Cookies just to name a few.

J & L are so inspiring. Most of their ideas are doable for those that might not have as much readily available resources at their disposal. Their ideas are full of love for the body, soul and mind too which is a great reminder. I’d love to win their book and show my wee fams, how easy it can be to make and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
