Hand’s up all you ‘Lolly Lovers’ out there?
See that.. Yip, that’s me frantically waving back at you all, whilst simultaneously avoiding aisle 4 (the confectionery aisle) at New World.
Now, as a parent of a little one and the main grocery shopper in our household I am always on the look out for that which is a healthier alternative. Generally speaking I avoid the confectionary aisle, it is just too tempting for this self confessed sweet tooth, and those lovely bright colours and packages are just too attention grabbing for my grocery shopping helper (son).
So when I was recently sent some goodies from the team at Allen’s I was suitably impressed to see a ‘NEW’ look, (still bright, colourful packaging) but with the emphasis on portion serve size and what I liked the most.. ‘No Artificial Colours’. Something as a parent I am very aware and conscious of, so when I see this, its gets a big tick in the YES box. As you will be aware, so many pre-packaged goods now contain artificial colours to make them more appealing. It was a welcomed sight to see lovely bright ‘Snakes Alive’, ‘Jelly Tots’ and Tangy Tots’ all of which are natural in colour but still vibrant and appealing on the eye.
Did you know that..?
From September onwards, Allen’s lollies are creating smiles for the whole family with the release of their NEW Allen’s Jelly Tots and Allen’s Tangy Tots. You can enjoy the fun with the juicy fruity flavours of Jelly Tots, or tickle your taste buds with the tingly flavours of Tangy Tots. There are five yummy flavours to choose from: luscious strawberry, tangy lime, zesty lemon, fruity blackberry or juicy orange.
My favourite is fruity blackberry! Whichever you choose of these tasty morsels, I am sure you will be left wanting to go back for more and with a portion serve size of 12 -14 Tots you definitely can… Looks like I will have to start making a trip down aisle 4 again sometimes 🙂
What do you think? Do these mini fruit flavoured jellies sound like something which would be enjoyed in your household? If you have managed to get your hands on them, what did you think? Have you seen the new packaging for Allen’s lollies yet? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below
**Disclosure: I was very fortunate to have been sent Allen’s Snakes Alive, Jelly Tots and Tangy Tots to review, Thanks Allen’s! Please note all thoughts and opinions are my own**
