No surprises with that statement I’m sure. So given the opportunity to try out a new cookbook and you will find me running to the kitchen (although these days it feels a bit more like a waddle 🙂 ). Under the umbrella of ‘Everyday Easy’; Comfort Food is written by household favourites Simon and Alison Holst and features a range of foods from soups, to stews, to curries, including a family favourite – macaroni cheese.
This book doesn’t just stop there with the winter wonders (think everything pasta and mashed potato); it includes a wide variety of foods all of which ‘envoke a sense of nostalgia, reminding you of your childhood and home cooking’ (think burgers).
Each recipe includes a mini description; ingredient list; easy to follow step by step instructions and serves at least four people. An added bonus – pretty much all the ingredients are already found in your cupboard (so no extra trips to the supermarket are required).
As a Mum, dinner time is a busy time of night as I am sure it is in MOST households, and dinner needs to be on the table quick smart. I love that many if not most of these recipes in ‘Comfort Food’ are just that quick and easy to prepare too, I can’t wait to try there burger recipe – perfect for Summer evenings.
Go on, put it on your Christmas Wish List today and make dinner time quick and easy in your household.
