I have always liked the idea of being creative and arty, yet those ‘creative juices’ have never really flowed through my veins. I find I tend to be too OCD to naturally create. At the same time I have been wanting to find something that I could do that was for me and a bit more in depth than the painting, gluing and sticking that I do with Sebastian.
Then, I stumbled upon the Warehouse Stationery’s Inspiration Station.
An exciting new portal with how-to videos, project sheets, information on special in-store events and competitions. A place to spark and ignite inspiration and get those creative juices flowing. There is information on everything from painting, washi taping and scrapbooking, through to easy step-by-step creative videos of things to do with the kiddies.
I recently tried out a couple of the ‘Project Sheets’ available. I felt like painting and yet had no idea where to start (I didn’t feel like I was at the pick-up-a-paintbrush-and-paint-a-picture place). I needed something with a bit of direction, that was simple, that had margin for error (after all, this was my first attempt), and that was a bit abstract. I tackled the ‘Galaxy Project’ and ‘Crackle Medium Project’. I loved that they were SO different to what I had ever tried before. I also loved that they were simple. They were projects that I could start and stop as and when permitted. They were the perfect ‘Mum of Two’ projects as I could do them when I could (hint: at night after they were in bed). While I still feel like there is room for improvement, I was pleased with how they turned out for a first attempt. I was even more impressed when hubby said they looked great in our little man’s room. And yes, I did something for me that was something for Sebastian (but isn’t that just how being a Mum goes!?!).
Now, I have started, I’m hooked! I can’t wait to get my Media Misters out again and try out some different arty, crafty combinations. I also think the little fella will have heaps of fun with them too. But I’m not just hooked on the Media Mister 😉 I’m hooked on the Inspiration Station. I can not wait to decorate some notebooks in washi tape and create some cards and pictures out of chalk and shaving foam with Sebastian.
