This post like the one I wrote to Sebastian has been a long time coming. It’s a post I keep going to write yet cant quite find the words. And at the same time one which actually means so much to me. I love writing posts to my children on their brithday reflecting on them and they year they have had. However somehow find it so hard to put into words their first year…

My darling Isabelle,
I know it sounds cliched but where on earth have the last 12 (let alone 15) months gone? It feels like just yesterday we were a family of three wishing and waiting for a wee bundle to join and complete us. Now here we are, here you are fifteen months old and the sweetest little girl ever.
It is amazing how much happens in the first year of ones life, how many changes, how much growth.. You have gone from our squishy newborn giving squishy newborn cuddles and that yummy newborn smell, (however sleeping most of your day away); to an adorable wee toddler who still gives gorgeous squishy cuddles but who has the most adorable smile – seriously, your smile and laugh are infectious, they and you light up the room.
You love your big brother like nothing else, wherever he is you will be and vise versa. You look up to him and are constantly following and copying him. What makes my heart sing the most is he feels exactly the same way about you and most mornings will ask to be the first to greet you good morning and want to hop in your cot with you just to be close to you. I love the relationship you two have with each other and I hope it continues long into the future. FOREVER!
You are gentle, sweet and so loving. You have already shown yourself to be a wee mother hen giving your babies (teddies) cuddles and patting them on the back before tucking them up upside down and back to front in the pushchair at Nanny and Poppa’s house. I love how you back yourself up to someone when you want a cuddle or a story.
Oh my goodness you are cheeky and are my climber. Scarily enough those two go hand in hand as you make trip after trip over the back of the couch via your big brothers table and chairs, looking back over your shoulder at us. No matter how many times we move you , you keep going back for more with a flash of that cheeky grin.
We love everything about you baby girl, from your delicious thighs to your cute as a button nose, you are loved beyond measure! It has been our greatest gift to watch you grow.
Love Mummy, Daddy and your big Brubba xx
