Eeeep, today I am sharing with you what has fast become my favorite room in the house.. Isabelle’s (very) Girly Nursery.
When we found out we were expecting again, something I was excited about (aside from the newest addition to our family) was the prospect of creating a nursery, again. When Isabelle turned 4 months old and was outgrowing the bassinet, not only was it was time to move her into her cot, it was time to give her wee nursery a makeover. So whilst this moment was tinged with sadness it was also exciting as all my months of planning and collecting were finally able to come to fruition.
Her nursery is fairly small so we kept furniture to a minimum; with just her cot, set of drawers and a custom made bookcase just inside the door. I will start by saying now that if you are not into all things girly then it’s time to look away or check out this recipe 😉
Isabelle’s nursery is the epitome of girly. It is filled with lots of soft pink, lilac and white; and bunnies, lots of bunnies. It is light, peaceful, calming and sweet (if a room can be sweet). It is filled with lots of local goodies from fantastic Mummy businesses and I am positively thrilled with how the whole thing came together.
My Mum and I made the bunting and the tulle pompoms. We used the bunny Isabelle was given for Easter as a base for our colour palate. I choose to keep the quilt white allowing for the accents to shine through. The pink blanket and cushion were both fluke finds from the Warehouse, I wasnt even really looking for them and they were on special, WIN. The bunny mobile I got made from the lovely it is seriously cute! The bunnies are so small they fit in your hand and have custom tummies and ears; one even has her name embroided on one **heart eyes**
Something that I remembered about my room from when I was little was the print my Mum choose for the wall, I loved it and it really stuck with me. So I really wanted to pick something that I felt Isabelle would love the same. This floral crown bunny print fits in with her room so well and I love it; I’m in love with it and I hope she does too.
The drawers and bookcase are dotted with bunny love and goodies given to her or bought from some very lovely local businesses. They are the perfect finishing touches and a quick rearrange of goodies can give it a whole new look.
What I love the most about her room is that it is the perfect mix of store bought, local hand made and made with love by Mummy and Nanny. I love that so many of the goodies in her room have been given to her. They have been hand picked just for her by those that love her. It’s the perfect girly haven, peaceful and tranquil. It can also grow with her and with a couple of additions here and there can evolve.
Well, that’s it.. the end of the tour of my lil girls nursery, I hope you’ve enjoyed having a look around.
