Looking for an alternative to plastic wrap…?
Then… Honeywrap’s are for you!
Honeywraps are a natural alternative to one time use plastic wrap. They are the brain child of three kiwi mums (and friends) who ‘have always tried to their bit for the envioronement’; a school project ‘lead them to discover beewax coated fabric being used as an alternative to plastic wrap’ and a hole in the New Zealand market lead them to start making their own.
Made from 100% organic cotton with a blend of beeswax and natural preservatives, they help keep your food fresher for longer. These natural ingredients make the cloth tacky so it can be shaped and moulded to cover your food and dishes. They smell delicious too (seriously you just feel like eating them). Handmade right here is New Zealand, they are resuable up to a year (based on daily use), and can then be composted; non toxic and are great for wrapping everything from cheeses, lunches, salads, snacks and so much more. I particularly like how they save up to 75 metres of plastic from going into the sea or landfill – I mean how good is that?!?
Honeywraps come in a wide range of sizes from small which is fabulous for those cheese board leftovers; to extra large which are fabulous for covering your whole platter making taking a plate and cleaning up a breeze. Since I have started using them, lunchtimes have become more of a fun affair with Sebastian loving having his sandwich, roll, or wrap ‘wrapped’ in a Honeywrap.
Towards, the end of last year the mums behind Honeywrap approached the talented artist Hayley King – AKA Flox to create a limited edition nature inspired print. Flox featured her signature flora and forna artistry with twist and with only 2000 made they have been flying off the shelves since.

I would love to go in the draw for one of the sets of honeywraps 🙂 we love ours and could always do with more.
We are trying to do away with glad wrap as well as most household waste that goes to landfill with our goal for next year only filling one rubbish bin. We are a family of 6 so we are preparing now 🙂 our page is called Practically Green if you would like to check it out.

I love seeing so many people out promoting awesome products like these, they need to reduce the plastic easily available in the supermarket and have wonderful products like this. We are always on a mission to rid plastic as it is so evil 🙂

I love using my honey wraps and have found switching to them instead of plastic wrap to be super easy. Plus they smell fantastic! However I only brought a small pack of wraps and have found that I’m now in need of some of the larger sizes!

I am an artist And I paint bee-related works… whenever I have an opening night I make my (extremely delish) cheese ball and serve it half wrapped in Honeywrap! People are intrigued about that, but love making the connection between Honeywrap and the artworks. Also it’s such a monster cheese ball, there’s always some left over and it never gets fuzzy wrapped up in Honeywrap in the fridge.
